Gordon House was one of the artists principally responsible
for the Renaissance in printmaking that began in Great Britain
in the 1960s. His counsel was immensely helpful to painters
and sculptors entering the printmaking field. His commitment
to quality helped everyone - artists, printers, publishers,
students of prints such as myself. He made us all aware of the
highest standards and of integrity to medium as forces in the
creative process. His quiet influence is still abroad in the land,
but his case for quality is made best in his own work, a
